About Wardens of the Deep

In the year 3016 T.A.; a messager arrived seeking an audience with our Lord and King, Dain Ironfoot.  His ere was one of shadow and dire mystery, and our number barred him entrance to the hallowed throne room of our Lord.  The messanger requested information on the whereabouts of one "Baggins"; which we only took to mean that this queer messanger was indeed looking for the reknowned hobbit, "Bilbo Baggins".  While we passed no information on Mr. Baggins' whereabouts, Lord Dain later felt that perhaps an envoy into the west to seek out Rivendell and Master Elrond's opinion on the matter would be well.  For this envoy, Gloin and his son Gimli were chosen, for they were familiar with the road and what dangers might lay ahead.

A month after the departure of the dark messanger, other tidings returned to the halls of the Mountain.  Tidings from the far west, where dwelt our kinsmen in the Blue Mountains.  The goblins were stirring once more in their caves beneathe the mountains, and worse still was the rumour of the treachery of the Dourhands.  It would seem that this union between the Dourhands and the goblins was more than just hear-say and their was much truth in the matter.  A small force was chosen to march west and investigate the threat that was posed, against our kinsmen who dwelt in the old halls of Thorin Oakenshield.  Bargim, Captain of our number was chosen to lead this expedition.  He chose his companions personally from among his fellow guardsmen, among their number was Murdin, son of Magrin.  At the end of the week the Company departed for the west, intent on shoreing up the defenses of Thorins Halls, should they have need of it; and puting an end to any threat this treacherous union of Dourhands and goblins might pose...

The Company of Wardens of the Deep arrived in the Blue Mountains at Thorins Halls on winter's eve, 3017 T.A. It was indeed discovered that the local garrison of the Blue Stone was over-taxed to handle the current situation, and Bargim and his Wardens were indeed a most welcome sight.  Dwalin, son of Fundin, who's brother had departed a few years prior to found a colony in Khazad-Dum, was currently the Steward of these halls.  Dwalin graciously granted the Wardens of the Deep a hall of their own beneathe Thorins Halls.  Bargim and his small force immediatly began to levy the local population and prepare for the defense of the Halls of Thorin.
